Softball Recap: Bayside Takes a Loss

Bayside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Kellam Knights, falling 8-1. If the Marlins were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Paityn Robinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Bayside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Kellam, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

Bayside will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ocean Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The Dolphins' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Marlins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kellam, they will venture away from home to challenge Grassfield at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
