Baseball Recap: Gillespie's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Gillespie blew Litchfield out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Litchfield got their revenge. The Miners fell just short of the Purple Panthers by a score of 3-1. The Miners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Purple Panthers earlier this season, when they won 10-2.

Luke Schuckenbrock made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

The defeat snapped Gillespie's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-8 record. As for Litchfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Gillespie will face off against Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Litchfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-1 win against Pana on the 12th.
