Baseball Game Preview: El Dorado Cougars vs. Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack

The El Dorado Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. El Dorado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

El Dorado's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over South Tahoe. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

JJ Allen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for El Dorado: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Trent Vail also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

El Dorado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks fell victim to Rio Americano and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 10-0.

El Dorado has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Cosumnes Oaks' loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
