Volleyball Recap: Jefferson City Triumphs

Jefferson City proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Camdenton Lakers 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Jays in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won five in a row.

Jefferson City wouldn't go down easily and took Camdenton into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-14, 15-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Ella Showers was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 24 digs and seven aces. That's the most digs she has posted since September 5th.

Showers wasn't the only good servers: Jefferson City was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matches.

Jefferson City's win bumped their record up to 13-8-1. As for Camdenton, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4-3.
