Basketball Recap: Grapeland Skates Past Centerville with Ease

Grapeland was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Centerville on Tuesday. The Grapeland Sandies blew past the Centerville Tigers 77-27. The Sandies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Trae Phillips and Amarius Phillips certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Trae posted nine points and five boards, while Amarius put up six points and six rebounds.

Grapeland is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Coincidentally, Grapeland and Centerville will both be playing Leon the next time they take the court. Grapeland will host Leon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Centerville will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th.
