Football Recap: Clermont Northeastern Comes Up Short

Clermont Northeastern extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 45-15 defeat at the hands of the Holy Cross Indians. That's two games in a row now that the Rockets have lost by exactly 30 points.

As for Holy Cross, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.0 points on average this season.

Holy Cross found their leader in sophomore Brian Ferguson, who threw for 157 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 76 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Braylon Thornberry was another key player, picking up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Looking ahead, Clermont Northeastern will venture away from home to square off against Lockland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they will host Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
