Soccer Game Preview: Jackson vs. Mentor

The Jackson Polar Bears will square off against the Mentor Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jackson saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Findlay. Jackson better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Reese Brickwood, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mentor took on St. Joseph Academy on Tuesday. The Cardinals beat the Jaguars by a goal, winning 2-1. Mentor haven't had any issues with St. Joseph Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mentor's victory bumped their record up to 9-4-5. As for Jackson, their win bumped their record up to 10-7-1.

Jackson was able to grind out a solid victory over Mentor when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Polar Bears repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
