Baseball Recap: Gulf Coast H's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Gulf Coast H had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let The Classical Academy of Sarasota Patriots get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Monday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the HEAT this season.

Oliver Ekstrom was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Gulf Coast H: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Andrew Blunden was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Kevin McNulty was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Gulf Coast H's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for The Classical Academy of Sarasota, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf Coast H will challenge Sarasota Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Classical Academy of Sarasota, they will head out to take on Ruskin Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
