Preview: Myrtle Hawks vs. West Lowndes Panthers
The Myrtle Hawks will be playing at home against the West Lowndes Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Thursday, Myrtle was just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to Byers. Myrtle has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Myrtle got a solid performance out of Joe Kizer, who rushed for 270 yards and three touchdowns.
West Lowndes can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Smithville by a score of 38-26. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for West Lowndes' 12-point performance the contest before.
Myrtle's defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.7 points per game. As for West Lowndes, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
