Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Austin Davie and Garyn Jackson Lead Campbell County to Victory

Campbell County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the St. Henry Crusaders by a score of 56-48. Given the Camels' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Crusaders are ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Campbell County was led to victory by Garyn Jackson and Austin Davie. Jackson almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards, while Davie dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Davie's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Xavier Fancher was another key player, putting up eight points.

Campbell County's victory bumped their record up to 20-9. As for St. Henry, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Campbell County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Henry, they will face off against Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holy Cross knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully St. Henry likes a good challenge.
