Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian Academy easily dispatched Berean Christian last Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Calvary Christian Academy Eagles fell just short of the Westminster Christian Warriors by a score of 40-37 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since December 10, 2024.

Westminster Christian found their leader in sophomore Angelina Fernandez, who posted 18 points and three steals. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Fernandez has scored at least a third of Westminster Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsie Kenney, who earned eight points along with eight boards and three steals.

Calvary Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Westminster Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Calvary Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-20 loss against Pine Crest on the 28th. As for Westminster Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-39 win against Mater Academy Charter on the 27th.
