Basketball Recap: Drew Dixon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Bend Adams over Penn

South Bend Adams lost against Penn back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Bend Adams Eagles fell 43-31 to the Penn Kingsmen. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

South Bend Adams' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Dixon, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points. Jarvis Tolbert was another key player, putting up 15 points and five boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Penn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Coolman, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Good, who had seven points and five boards.

South Bend Adams has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Penn, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

South Bend Adams will venture away from home to face off against South Bend St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Penn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-42 victory against Goshen on the 1st.
