Football Recap: Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic Yellowjackets vs. Plainville Blue Devils
Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Plainville Blue Devils 46-7 on Friday. The Yellowjackets were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
A big part of Plainville's victory came down to the chemistry between Anthony Abarno and his top target Yhosman Moffi. Abarno threw for 344 yards and six TDs while completing 88.5% of his passes while Moffi picked up 212 receiving yards and five scores. William Putnam also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic will venture away from home to square off against Woodland Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Yellowjackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Plainville, they will head out on the road to face off against Middletown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
