Softball Game Preview: Plainfield Panthers vs. East Lyme Vikings

Plainfield is 0-3 against East Lyme since May of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Plainfield is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 18-11 to Montville.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for East Lyme's offense. They came up short against Waterford on Wednesday, falling 12-0. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Plainfield suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to East Lyme in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
