Softball Game Preview: Daphne Trojans vs. Satsuma Gators

The Daphne Trojans will take on the Satsuma Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Daphne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Daphne is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Orange Beach, who was ranked first at the time (Daphne was ranked fifth). The Trojans came up short against the Makos on Thursday, falling 17-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Trojans, who until this contest were averaging 2.16 runs allowed.

Abby J Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Satsuma's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They and Spain Park finished up their matchup with a 3-3 tie.

Satsuma's draw gives them a new season record of 23-14-3. As for Daphne, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 31-6.

Daphne beat Satsuma 8-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
