Softball Recap: Pasco Pirates vs. Citrus Hurricanes
After flying high against Anclote last Monday, Pasco came back down to earth. The Pirates fell just short of the Citrus Hurricanes by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in February.
Abigail Grubbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.
On the hitting side, Pasco saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shalyn Carter, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Morgan Montelongo was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
