Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. Godley

The Liberty Patriots will challenge the Godley Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Liberty comes in on 15 and Godley on six.

Liberty is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Graham get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Liberty's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last 15 contests.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Godley duked it out with Castleberry on Tuesday. Godley blew past Castleberry 3-0. Considering Godley have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylie Graves and Lexi Tyler scored all three of Godley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Godley pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1-3.
