Softball Recap: St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs vs. Hilbert Wolves
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Mary Catholic). They put the hurt on the Hilbert Wolves with a sharp 11-1 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Zephyrs.
Gabrielle Guerrero spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emily Vogel was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emily Weiss, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
