Basketball Game Preview: UR Academy Lions vs. Socrates Academy Owls

The UR Academy Lions just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Socrates Academy Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 14 consecutive losses for UR Academy and three for Socrates Academy.

On Thursday, UR Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-42 to Mountain View Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 623rd in North Carolina, while the Mustangs are ranked 273rd in South Carolina).

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Socrates Academy duked it out withGaston Christian on Friday. Socrates Academy was beaten by Gaston Christian 75-5. The Owls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-4.

Socrates Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for UR Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
