Boston University Academy's loss ends three-game winning streak on the road

After a string of five wins dating back to last season, Boston University Academy's's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marie Philip. Boston University Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Marie Philip apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Xavier DeLeon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Marie Philip, scoring 24 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. The match was DeLeon's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jeremy Novas was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds.

Boston University Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. As for Marie Philip, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boston University Academy is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Commonwealth at 3:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Marie Philip, they will challenge Lexington School for the Deaf at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lexington School for the Deaf will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 358th in New York, while Marie Philip is ranked 18th in Massachusetts).
