Softball Game Preview: Willits Wolverines vs. Round Valley Mustangs

The Willits Wolverines will face off against the Round Valley Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Round Valley is facing Willits at the wrong time: Willits suffered their first home loss of the season on Wednesday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 16-4 to the Cubs.

Jazmarie Henson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Ariana Vazquez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Round Valley's offense. They came up short against Point Arena on Tuesday, falling 18-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Willits' loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Round Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Willits got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Round Valley by a conclusive 27-1 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
