With a playoff win on the line, Auburndale rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Crivitz Wolverines as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Morgan Griesbach made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danika Blomberg, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Lily Bellanti was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
