Basketball Game Preview: Muleshoe Mules vs. Dimmitt Bobcats

Muleshoe hasn't had much luck against Dimmitt recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Muleshoe Mules will venture away from home to square off against the Dimmitt Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Tuesday, Muleshoe took a blow against Roosevelt, falling 70-38. While losing is never fun, the Mules can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1265th, while the Eagles are ranked 466th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Dimmitt was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Shallowater and fell 84-20. The match marked the Bobcats 's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dimmitt's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Muleshoe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Muleshoe was able to grind out a solid victory over Dimmitt in their previous meeting back in January, winning 58-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Muleshoe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
