Basketball Recap: Rensselaer Central Bombers vs. West Central Trojans
Rensselaer Central was the 51-35 winner over West Central when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rensselaer Central Bombers took a 72-54 bruising from the West Central Trojans on Thursday. The Bombers were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Nannenga, who went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points. Another player making a difference was Brady Bishop, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 21 points along with five assists and four steals.
Rensselaer Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for West Central, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.
Rensselaer Central will look to defend their home court on January 17th against West Lafayette at 8:00 p.m. As for West Central, they will head out to challenge Tri-County at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
