Softball Recap: Centralia Panthers vs. Valley Heights Mustangs        
        
		
            
 Centralia was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell  6-2 to the Valley Heights Mustangs.
  Oen Deters put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching two innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit. Deters was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases and a  double.
 In other batting news,  Tava Gibbs made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases.
 On Valley Heights' side,  Paige Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. Miller has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Maggie Toerber was  excellent,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Anne Toerber, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Centralia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Valley Heights, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat Centralia by a score of  7-3 later that day.
