Baseball Recap: Catholic Central Crusaders vs. Caldwell Redskins
Catholic Central and Caldwell squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Catholic Central had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Caldwell Redskins by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Catholic Central of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2015.
Daniel Free made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Rauch, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Caldwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.
