Football Recap: Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Comes Up Short

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) fell victim to Homestead and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They were dealt a 49-0 defeat at the hands of the Homestead Broncos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Stallions of the 44-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Homestead had a senior duo take command as Jerniyah Fowles threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of her passes and Kelis Durham gained 144 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Fowles racked up 152.2 passer rating, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Homestead also got help from Caitylyn Gibson, who showed off her sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)'s defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Homestead, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-0 win against Archbishop Carroll on the 27th. As for Homestead, they will take on True North Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on March 5th.
