Soccer Game Preview: Rancho Buena Vista vs. Torrey Pines

The Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns will square off against the Torrey Pines Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Rancho Buena Vista's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Torrey Pines has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Last Wednesday, Rancho Buena Vista had just enough and edged Carlsbad out 2-1. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Lancers are ranked 513th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gianluca Fajardo and Jonathan Cruz scored both of Rancho Buena Vista's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Torrey Pines' offense. They fell 2-0 to La Costa Canyon on Wednesday.

Rancho Buena Vista has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-2 record this season. As for Torrey Pines, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
