Softball Recap: Lafayette Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Lafayette had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Corinth Warriors get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won 19 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Zanieya Booker was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Braleigh Crowe, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Lafayette was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are 19-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lafayette has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Corinth, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lafayette beat the Warriors by a score of 11-0 on Friday.
