Basketball Recap: East Takes a Loss

East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Leopards have suffered since December 13, 2024.

Despite the loss, East still got an impressive performance from Charlie Moore, who went 6 for 9 to rack up 17 points. Moore is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Jace Schneider was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Saladi Maluak went supernova for West, going 8 of 9 on his way to 23 points and six boards. Those 23 points gave Maluak a new career-high. DC Auksitino also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for West, their record now sits at 7-14.

East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-37 loss against Highland on the 7th. As for West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-64 defeat against Skyline on the 7th.
