George Ranch (Texas) pitcher proves she's no novelty.

We know them for making their mark on the high school sports landscape by competing against and occasionally dominating male batters on the diamond.

Today, Sarah Hudek and Marti Sementelli can add "gold medalist" to their list of accomplishments.

Hudek, a former George Ranch (Richmond, Texas) standout lefty, picked up a win and a save in three appearances while leading the USA Women's Baseball team to the top prize at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. She also batted .357 with a double, a triple and five RBIs in five games.

Sementelli made headlines as a pitcher for Birmingham (Lake Balboa, Calif.) when she earned a college baseball scholarship to NAIA school Montreat College. At the Pan Am Games the right-hander did not allow a run in two appearances, earning the win in one of them.
