Roncalli and New Palestine are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Royals will square off against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roncalli's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so New Palestine's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Roncalli is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Indian Creek by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Royals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Palestine). They blew past Greenwood 19-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sadey Hughbanks looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Payton Dye was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Maddie Engle was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The win was the fourth in a row for New Palestine, bringing their record up to 24-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Roncalli, their win bumped their record up to 22-7.
