Baseball Recap: Horse Creek Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Horse Creek Academy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Wagener-Salley War Eagles as they made off with an 11-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Stallions have won by exactly ten runs.

Bryce Gunter and Iniko Barker made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Gunter struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Barker tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February of 2024. At the plate, Gunter scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Barker scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, Barker posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brice Abney, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. He has become a key player for Horse Creek Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Connor Kanagy was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Horse Creek Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
