Softball Recap: Windham RVT Starts Season with Victory at Home

Windham RVT gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They never let the Parish Hill Pirates get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mighty Tigers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Genna Sargent, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily Howlett-Reynolds, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Windham RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parish Hill only posted an OBP of .409.

Coming up, Windham RVT is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on East Windsor at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Parish Hill, they will welcome Weaver at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
