Basketball Game Preview: Holcomb Longhorns vs. Bucklin Red Aces

The Holcomb Longhorns will be taking part in a tournament against the Bucklin Red Aces at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Holcomb saw some tournament action on Monday. They blew past Nickerson, posting a 68-21 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Meanwhile, Bucklin posted their closest win since February 2nd on Monday. They had just enough and edged St. John out 43-40.

Bucklin's win came from a few key players Holcomb will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emmy Kirk, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Becca Durler, who had six points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

Holcomb's record now sits at 2-0. As for Bucklin, their record is now an identical 2-0.
