Softball Recap: DuQuoin Comes Up Short

DuQuoin is still winless after their game against Nashville on Tuesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hornets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered since May 6, 2024.

Lucy Milam was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabele Jones, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

DuQuoin's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Nashville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Looking ahead, DuQuoin will head out on the road to square off against Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Nashville, they will head out to challenge Chester at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
