Volleyball Recap: Liberty Stevens' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lakewood over East Clarendon + How To Watch

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the East Clarendon Wolverines, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Tuesday.

Lakewood was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-13.

Lakewood lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Liberty Stevens, who had five kills, three blocks, and two aces. Aurora Mullins was another key player, getting three aces and one block.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for East Clarendon, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Lakewood and East Clarendon will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Gators will square off against rival Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Clarendon is set to challenge their familiar foe Manning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
