Preview: Millikan Rams vs. Cabrillo Jaguars

Millikan has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Cabrillo Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Millikan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three contests.

Millikan pushed their score all the way to 68 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 81-68 to Lakewood. While losing is never fun, Millikan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 687th, while Lakewood is ranked 101st).

Despite the defeat, Millikan got a solid performance out of Dylan Williams, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Hunt, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, even though Jordan scored an imposing 61 points on Wednesday, Cabrillo still came out on top. Cabrillo walked away with a 68-61 victory over Jordan. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cabrillo.

Millikan has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Cabrillo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Millikan came up short against Cabrillo in their previous matchup on January 8th, falling 64-52. Can Millikan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
