League recap: Xavier extends winning streak with victory over Cedar Falls

4A Mississippi Valley - Valley recap Oct. 16, 2012

Xavier extended the longest winning streak in 4A Mississippi Valley - Valley this week by beating Cedar Falls, 24-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Saints.

Prairie led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on Washington.

Jefferson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Layne Sullivan has thrown for 461 yards this season, while Ben Koering has seven catches for 118 yards. Sullivan also leads the league in rushing with 131 yards.

A big matchup in 4A Mississippi Valley - Valley this week will be when Waterloo East takes on Iowa City West. As it stands, the Trojans are in fourth, while the Trojans are in second.
