Basketball Game Preview: RHAM Raptors vs. Glastonbury Guardians

RHAM hasn't had much luck against Glastonbury recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The RHAM Raptors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Glastonbury Guardians at 6:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

RHAM came up short against Enfield on Monday, falling 59-33.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Glastonbury's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Hartford.

RHAM will need focus on slowing down Jalen Welch, one of several Glastonbury players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 of 9 on his way to 22 points. Welch continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of David Smith, who posted 16 points along with six assists and five boards.

Glastonbury's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-2. As for RHAM, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

RHAM was dealt a bruising 68-18 defeat at the hands of Glastonbury in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Smith, who went 8 for 18 en route to 21 points and five rebounds. Now that RHAM knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
