Basketball Recap: Hillsdale Takes a Loss

Hillsdale lost against San Mateo back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Mateo Bearcats. The matchup marked the FIGHTING KNIGHTS's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

It was another big night for Zidane Auzarang, who posted 20 points and seven rebounds for San Mateo. The contest was Auzarang's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Grant Wolfgram was another key player, putting up five points.

This is the second loss in a row for Hillsdale and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for San Mateo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Hillsdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-51 victory against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory on the 2nd. As for San Mateo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-41 win against Burlingame on the 4th.
