Baseball Game Preview: Hilltop Lancers vs. Otay Ranch Mustangs

The Hilltop Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Otay Ranch Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hilltop 4, Otay Ranch 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Hilltop and Olympian, and Hilltop kept the tradition alive. The Lancers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles on Monday, sneaking past 5-3.

Meanwhile, Otay Ranch narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sweetwater 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won four in a row.

Otay Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Hilltop, their win bumped their record up to 9-16.

Hilltop skirted past Otay Ranch 7-5 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
