Basketball Recap: Haines City Wins Going Away Against Ridge Community

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Haines City had no problem doing just that on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 68-52 victory over the Ridge Community Bolts. That looming 68-52 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hornets yet this season.

Haines City had a senior duo take command as Eddy Hyppolite Jr. went 8 for 13 on his way to 23 points and four steals and Kobe Key went 8 of 17 en route to 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Key. Delenge Jean was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

The win got Haines City back to even at 12-12. As for Ridge Community, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.

Haines City won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Osceola's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while Haines City has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Ridge Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
