Volleyball Recap: Tri County Northeast Wins Going Away Against Wynot

Tri County Northeast hadn't done well against Wynot recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wolfpack put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 3-0 win. For the Wolfpack, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Tri County Northeast got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 30-28.

Kiya Tornez was the offensive standout of the match as she had 14 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last three matchups.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenna Oligmueller, who had 19 digs, 16 kills, and three aces. With that strong performance, Oligmueller is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. Another player making a difference was Haley Wieseler, who had 31 assists and 11 digs.

The win made it two in a row for Tri County Northeast and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Wynot, their loss ended a seven-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.

Tri County Northeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Pender on the 2nd. As for Wynot, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Homer on the 2nd.
