Football Game Preview: Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions vs. Springdale Dynamos

The Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions will take on the Springdale Dynamos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Greensburg Central Catholic ended up a good deal behind Jeannette and lost 37-22. The Centurions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greensburg Central Catholic might have lost, but man, Samir Crosby was a machine: he rushed for 255 yards and one touchdown while picking up 13.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 99 yards and one TD. Crosby's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Bobby Smithnosky was another key player, gaining 64 total yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Springdale's offense. They had to suffer through a 51-0 loss at the hands of Clairton. While losing is never fun, the Dynamos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 550th, while the Bears are ranked 126th).

Greensburg Central Catholic now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Springdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Greensburg Central Catholic against Springdale in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-0 win. Do the Centurions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dynamos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
