Softball Recap: Sherman Tide vs. Tug Valley Panthers
Sherman had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 10-7 to make it four. They fell 4-1 to the Tug Valley Panthers. The Tide were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 6-3.
Sherman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Plantz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
As for Tug Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.
On Tug Valley's side, Bailee Hall made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Hall has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Coming up, Sherman will head out on the road to challenge Nitro at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tug Valley, they will welcome Pike County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
