Basketball Recap: Marie Philip Comes Up Short

Marie Philip was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 61-52 to International School of Boston. The Galloping Ghosts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced International School of Boston earlier this season, when they won 70-53.

When it comes to explaining why Marie Philip lost, don't look at Xavier DeLeon. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 39 points and 11 rebounds. DeLeon has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 50 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Riebe, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Marie Philip smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Marie Philip's record now sits at 13-7. As for International School of Boston, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
