Baseball Game Preview: Clovis Cougars vs. Buchanan Bears

Clovis and Buchanan are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Clovis came out on top against Northgate on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Cougars took their game against the Broncos 10-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Christian Gonzalez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Brenden Kuraspediani was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Dalton Byrd was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Clovis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northgate only posted a batting average of .207.

Meanwhile, Buchanan beat Frontier 7-4 on Wednesday.

The win got Buchanan back to even at 7-7. As for Clovis, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
