Basketball Recap: Highland Park Beats Turner for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Highland Park waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Turner Lions 58-13. Given the Scots' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Lions are ranked 1297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Highland Park has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Turner, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Highland Park will host Wakeland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Highland Park has won six straight at home, while Wakeland won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Turner has already played their next game (against Creekview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
