Soccer Recap: Gilroy Gets the Win

Gilroy kept a clean sheet against Evergreen Valley on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Evergreen Valley Cougars by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ian Honeycutt and Juan Quiroz scored both of Gilroy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Gilroy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which somehow still isn't as good as their 7-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for Evergreen Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5-1.

Gilroy wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Yerba Buena on the 17th. As for Evergreen Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-1 loss against James Lick on the 17th.
